Computer Time
I hardly ever get uninterrupted computer time to myself. I try and then something happens like, mom! She hit me; OUCH! I hurt myself. It is exhausting. So, today I am going to sit here, using the computer, by myself. I am going to look at stuff. Whatever stuff I want to look at for how ever long I want to look at it.

A Ride in the Truck
Today, I allowed my husband to be in charge of the driving. I usually don't do this. It is not that he cannot drive or that he is not good at driving, it is that I am a control freak. I want to steer the car where I want the car to go. So, for my ten minutes today, I just rode in the truck. I sat still, looked out the window at the beautiful country side, had a conversation with my hubby, and enjoyed ten minutes of not having to monitor my speed limit or the road itself. I recommend letting go of the reigns occasionally. It is liberating. So, I took ten for me.

About me
Hey world. I thought you might like to know a bit about me. I am in my early thirties. I am happily married to the most wonderful man on the planet. I have two healthy children - thank you Lord for that!
I am a teacher of English to high school students in Arkansas. (Yes, I promise we speak English here in the sticks... and wear real shoes to boot- pun intended!) I hold a bachelors degree in English and am seeking to earn a masters degree soon. I just need to pick out the college for me.
I am renting my home, but my family and I have big plans to build a house one day. And by 'my family and I' I mean physically building it ourselves. Blood and sweat equity...it's all the rage.
I am an avid list maker, seamstress, crafter, crocheter, youtube watcher, cop and medical drama viewer, young adult book reader (they don't seem to have all that nasty stuff adult books have in them), comedian, chef, valet parker, taxi driver, homework helper/tutor, shade-tree doctor (only natural remedies), etc. There are many hats that I wear. The oddity is wearing all of these at once...sorry guys, it seems only women have that super power.
So, that is a little about me. Don't you feel like we're best buds already? I do.

Bath Ten
I came home from work today exhausted. My kids have me ragged. My work has me stressed. My life is chaotic. So, what did I do? Lose myself in a television show? I tried. Didn't work. I began to think. What did I used to do to relax? You know, back before the kids, before my teaching career, before life really hit me. I used to take long baths. I would grab some food: cottage cheese, crackers, and a drink. Run a bath as hot as I could stand it - and believe me... I can take hot! Put something in the water: bubbles, oils, beads. Then I would get into the bath and just relax.
So, being the mom on the go, I had not a morsel of delectable food. (I already had dinner anyway.) Hence, I skipped this part. I put some Vaseline brand powder from a box into the water. (I suffer from dry skin and found that this is the only relief I really get.) I got into the hot bath with an old Prevention magazine my mom hands me down. I read/flipped thorough it...again. (I love to read old magazines over and over again...they are a treasure of new information.) I soaped up my hair, slid down to my neck in the hot water, and did nothing. I closed my eyes and focused on having nothing on my mind.
The end product? Relaxation... ahhh...works every time. I have just taken ten for me!

Blog Goals
This blog is for me. I read some where that people don't take enough time for themselves regularly. Therefore, I decided to create ten minutes a day to just be... whatever I want to do... whatever I don't want to do... wherever I want to be... whoever I want to be... I can just be/do! The trick is, I have to do something every day. Something for me. Not necessarily relaxing, productive, or even thought educing. I will pledge to take ten minutes for me...ten for me! I will blog about my ten daily. So, only one question remains... will you take ten for you?
